The New Moon in Capricorn, December 24, 2011, 1:06 PM EST

The New Moon appears in the 9th House (refer to chart) Non USA members can set up a New Moon chart for the capital of their country. Textbook 4, page 30 of the Textbook For Financial Astrology, will help with interpretation the New Moon chart. (Note the house position of the New Moon in the chart in the capital of the country.)

Capricorn New Moon
The focus of the Capricorn New Moon is to take advantage of educational opportunities. The next few weeks offer an opportunity to start a new business or begin an important project. Foreign trade is the focus of financial markets. Expect new creative ideas to emerge in the markets place.
December 25, Merry Christmas!
Jupiter Direct at 0°Taurus
Jupiter will return to applying to a trine with Pluto ending with the Spring 2012 equinox. Everyone will strive for personal success. Agriculture and Business find plenty of work and energy to accomplish the goals they set. Business in emerging markets will remain successful throughout this time period.

The exact aspect marks an up market and the midpoint of an extended period of buyouts, mergers and mega deals. It is also a warning of bankruptcy among various financial institutions. It is very important to check the debt obligations of equities on your list of possible investments. Folks need to repeat the mantra "Cash is King" when judging investments and managing their own budgets.

Statistically 66% of the time the markets slowly go up after Jupiter resumes direct motion. However it can mark a high whereupon the markets plunge. This happened in March 2002 and September 2008. It is a time where firm stops are required.

January 24 Mars retrograde at 23 Virgo to stay until July 3,2012
Mars entered Virgo November 12, 2011 and will stay in Virgo until July 3 2012. Mars in Virgo very often forecasts very exciting events. Virgo has a reputation for precision and the ability to organize disparate parts into a logical order. Mars will give Virgo a shock of added energy. Folks will fill their trash cans, businesses will clean up their balance sheets, legislators will find their constituents insisting they dispose of waste and fraud in government. Investors will insist that their companies cut unnecessary expenses and entrepreneurs will pinch every penny.

It has been calculated the fixed star Regulus has moved to zero degrees Virgo.

The retrograde station forecasts an up market during the 80 days Mars is retrograde. However the 20th Century Mars retrogrades show a down market during the first month. Halfway through the retrograde period the market turns up and by the time Mars is once again direct the market has returned to the number average that it started at when Mars turned retrograde. Previous Mars retrogrades in Virgo have found traders attempting to corner one of the commodities, for example the Silver market in 1980.
The Capricorn New Moon appears in the 9th House (see chart above) With the New Moon in the 9th, travel is favored throughout the month ahead. It is also a good time to enroll in challenging classes. Religious organizations will find increased revenues and interest in their philosophy. While shopping this month pay particular attention to new and creative ideas as they appear in the marketplace.

Mercury appears in the 8th House
Folks complain about overwhelming paper work concerning taxes and insurance. Folks are frustrated and voicing their concerns. Government officials are offering their retirement applications as scandals continue to emerge.

Venus appears in the 10th House
Management will find an increase in compensation. The pressure on CEO's is intense and they will demand creativity from their subordinates. Entrepreneurs are finding interesting new ways to add to their income.

Mars appears in the 6th House
Employers in the medical industry continue to hire new workers. Scandals plague the industry adding to the number of job openings at the management level.

Jupiter appears in the 1st House
The public is happy and ready to enjoy the holidays ahead with good food and fun recreation. They are enjoying their new electronic toys and children are teaching elders how to make everything work. Families are busy visiting and exchanging stories.

* The Solstice date varies, and can be from December 20 to December 23 on the Georgian calendar.

The December Solstice occurs when the Sun is at it's most southerly declination of -23.5 degrees in the Northern hemisphere and is the shortest day of the year. The sun is directly overhead on the Tropic of Capricorn in the Southern hemisphere during the December solstice, and it is the longest day (in daylight hours) of the year for those living south of the Tropic of Capricorn.

The Winter Solstice Sun is in the third house, square Uranus and trine Jupiter in the seventh. It is time to think out of the box and find ways to use the plethora of social/business networks.

The Solstice Sun is all about the communications and the media. Management and employees in the old media know that change is required and expect the 2012 New Year to be the time of transition.

The Sun holds the trine to Jupiter offering the Santa Claus effect in the markets. The changes initiated by technology are rewarding entrepreneurs entering the world of business.

Throughout the year ahead their business model will change the way the economy works. It is a time similar to the years 1928-1934.

New businesses replace the old without the support of the established economic paradigms.

February 7 Saturn retrograde at 29° Libra Saturn in Libra tries to strike a balance between justice, discipline , fear repression, limitations, accountability and restrictions.

The Saturn station retrograde follows the current market trend. It does not seem to point to a change in direction. About 60% of the time the market is in an up cycle. About halfway through the retrograde expect the market to reverse direction.

February 14 Neptune returns to Pisces
Neptune will remain in its hometown of Pisces for 14 years. Pisces rules all things liquid as well as music, dancing, and poetry. It is a time when the arts make dramatic changes is style and form. Individual artists bring ideas that change the social order by revealing those areas of life that require a paradigm shift
in consciousness. Medicine changes, energy sources change, and transportation changes. The
Textbook for Financial Astrology book 1 page 33 lists the areas of life ruled by Pisces.

History demonstrates that Neptune's transit of Pisces suddenly increases the supply of gold and it is devalued as a result. (read article, Neptune In Pisces)

March 12 Mercury Retrograde at 6° Pisces

Mercury Rx is an excellent time to schedule vacation. Excellent adventures are promised, but be sure to pack any carry-on luggage carefully. It is important to double check all appointments.

Mercury direct occurs April 4 with just enough time to purchase an Easter basket. Automobile dealers will have some excellent deals on new cars and retail stores will be required to make drastic markdowns. People find it difficult to decide on the exact item to purchase when Mercury is retrograde.

During a Mercury Rx the markets slide up and down only to return to where they started 90% of the time.

During the Mercury Rx it is best to avoid purchases of items over $20. It is not a good idea to sign contracts, or purchase big ticket items. it is a time to do things that start with “re”. Example: read, recycle, repair, restore.

Long VOC Moons on trading days - During trading hours February 10, 23 and March 8 and 17.

The Winter Solstice Sun appears in the 3rd House
The Sun will focus attention on the individual. Folks are taking care of their own security and well being. They are making decisions about their own comfort zone and finding ways to improve their immediate space. People are connecting with friends and resetting their goals. They are trashing the debris in their lives and recycling the rest.

The markets will reflect the mood of people. Retail establishments that provide excellent service or education will add customers.

Businesses that provide personal service will add to their revenues. Electronics manufactures who can customize their products will find increased sales.

Pluto appears in the 4th House
This position of Pluto is very difficult for natural disasters and inclement weather. Therefore insurance companies and local governments will find their reserves severely diminished. People will be required to rely on their own resources. Make sure your weather emergency supplies are in good order.
Solar spot activity will add to the weather problems. It appears that the Sun is at the height of its active cycle. Now is good time to photograph auroras. (read the article, Sunspot Explosion)

Pluto here suggests that this is the bottom of the real estate cycle. If you are shopping for bargain properties, the next three months could help you find a few investment opportunities.

Venus appears in the 4th House
Relax and stay close to home. It is a good time to rearrange your work space, try new recipes, explore the Internet. Everyone will enjoy their electronic toys, and enjoy communicating with their new devises. It is a good time to explore various online trading accounts and try their practice sessions.

Venus here promises winter wheat will have enough snow cover to survive a cold winter. Windy winter storms will keep electric line repairmen busy. Check the trees near your house.

Saturn appears in the 1st House
Cash is king according to Saturn in Libra and consumers demand quality products and service. Saturn in the 1st house insists that folks use their common sense and spend their cash carefully.

Creativity is in abundant supply therefore read and listen carefully for investment opportunities.

Neptune appears in the 5th House
Creative folks will find ideas easy to implement and share via the Internet. Investors will be wise to listen carefully and assist whenever they agree the idea is viable.

Speculators in the commodities markets are very busy. Prices for various commodities will rise and fall quickly during the trading day.

Uranus appears in the 6th House
Unusual work opportunities appear. Part-time jobs will often lead to full time employment during this time period.

Jupiter appears in the 7th House
The next three months promise an excellent time to form partnerships. Public Relations experts will find plenty of work. Doctors and lawyers will find clients particularly anxious for answers to their problems. Entrepreneurs will find individual investors ready to help and form new partnerships. It is a good idea to check your astrological calendars and record times and dates for any
suggestions of new enterprises.

Mars appears in the 12th House
Executives and top managers find retirement a good idea. Scandals concerning charity organizations and governments will find managers turning in their resignations. Employees are difficult to manage as a result. Private prison corporations will need to revise their business model as inmates refuse to cooperate.

Moon appears in the 2nd House

Mercury appears in the 3rd House
Increase in trade and work connected with shipping and communications. Imports and exports of intellectual material improve dramatically.

During this Lunar month, November 25 through December 23, the spotlight is on the Zodiac signs of Sagittarius and early Capricorn. The Sun is in Sagittarius, however it will enter the zodiac sign of Capricorn on December 24, during this Lunar month.

Happy Solar Return to Sagittarius Suns and early Capricorns

Happy Solar Return to Sagittarians born November 24 through December 21. The year ahead promises the opportunity to travel local and long distance. Be sure to enroll in classes that are not only fun, but profitable. It is a good time to repair your vehicles, all of them. This year you will need to review every decision, double check your receipts and expect to do everything twice. The New Moon in Sagittarius, 2011

Astrological Investing will be in transition for a period of time due to the sudden passing of my dear friend and business partner Kaye Shinker. Although we worked together preparing articles and newsletters, Kaye was the creative author of the New Moon newsletter and Fiscal Cents. Most of the articles and blogs written for the web site and the blog were her writings. However, before her passing she had prepared the November, and December New Moon Newsletter, and Fiscal Cents, which I will share with you today and in December. Additionally, Kaye had written the Winter Solstice for 2011 and the year ahead for Fiscal Cents which will be posted on the web site in December.

New Moon in Sagittarius, Nov. 25, 20111 :10 AM EST

The New Moon appears in the 3rd House (refer to chart) Non USA members can set up a New Moon chart for the capital of their country. Solar Eclipse at 2° Sagittarius
The event is visible from high latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere and includes southern South Africa, Antarctica, Tasmania and most of New Zealand ( NASA Eclipse web site.) These areas will feel the effect of the eclipse with increased geological activity and severe warm weather storms. Expect political change and unrest in this area. An eclipse seems to create a rip in the earth's magnetic field in the area where the eclipse is visible, therefore expect increased atmospheric activity.

Sagittarius New Moon
The focus of the Sagittarius New Moon is make sure that every vehicle purchased is covered by warrantees, and every educational opportunity is worth the time and energy required. Mercury is retrograde in the New Moon chart, therefore avoid purchasing big ticket items. It is also a good idea to save all of your receipts.

Super New Moon
The Moon is perigee or at its closest point in its orbit around the Earth. Super Moons often predict natural disasters such as severe weather, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity. Richard Nolle created the term "Super New Moon". Click through to his article and explanation of the term.

The weather forecast is grumpy. It is time to find your umbrella and boots or muffler, gloves and earmuffs. Now is the time to purchase a battery backed up surge protector and a generator.

November 24 - Mercury retrograde at 20° Sagittarius
Yesterday Mercury turned retrograde, therefore it is an excellent time to schedule vacation. Adventures are promised, but be sure to pack any carry-on luggage carefully. It is important to double check all appointments as well as times and dates for Holiday parties. Holiday gift shopping needs to be accomplished prior to the Mercury retrograde station. Mercury direct occurs December 14. Shoppers will find excellent bargains. Retail stores will be required to make drastic markdowns as folks naturally have difficulty deciding the exact item to purchase during the three weeks Mercury is retrograde.

It is best to avoid purchases of items over $20 while Mercury is retrograde. It is not a good idea to sign contracts, or purchase big ticket items. it is a time to do things that start with “re” . Example: read,recycle,repair, restore. During a Mercury Rx the markets slide up and down only to return to where they started 90% of the time.

Interesting note concerning the 2 degree Sagittarius eclipse: (Read The Textbook for Financial Astrology II, page 83.) The aspect pattern for the Dow Industrial Index is a kite. The Sun is the head of the kite, therefore the Dow is always trying to soar higher. The tail of the kite is the Moon, therefore the kite sometimes catches a downdraft and its flight path dips and dives. The Dow Index has the Moon at 2 Sagittarius. Expect the Index to dip and dive throughout the year ahead. Also expect a change in the mix of stocks in the Dow 30.

Companies with planets at 2 degrees Sagittarius will find the next year challenging.

December 10 - Lunar Eclipse at 18° Gemini
( NASA Eclipse web site.) Lunar eclipses are fun to watch. I consider them to be far less difficult than Solar Eclipses. As to markets they are usually non events, however combined with Uranus direct it could be a very exciting day with weather problems changing family celebration schedules. Keep your cell phone charged and handy.

December 10 - Uranus direct at zero Aries
Uranus direct does not indicate a change in market trends. Seventy-five per cent (75%) of the time the markets obtain a balance and do not move either direction for the few weeks surrounding the station point. However, this station is at the Aries Point simultaneously with the Lunar Eclipse. Fortunately December 10th is a Saturday!

Erratic weather is a problem, therefore the commodities markets will find traders anticipating short supplies of all items traded - particularly metals.

December 14 - Mercury direct at 3° Sagittarius - YEAH!! SHOPPING!

Jupiter trine Pluto at 5° Taurus / Capricorn (continuing)
Jupiter began an applying trine with Pluto starting with the Fall Equinox. It will end with the Spring 2012 Equinox.

Everyone will strive for personal success. Agriculture and Business will find plenty of work with energy to accomplish the goals they set. Business in emerging markets will remain successful throughout this time period.

The exact aspect marks an up market and the midpoint of an extended period of buyouts, mergers, and mega deals.

Labor and management find agreements difficult to obtain. Local government and medical institutions are particularly vulnerable to labor disputes.

Mercury appears in the 3rd House
The focus is reviewing transportation requirements and repairs of current vehicles. Neighborhoods are devoting their attention as to the best use of their tax dollars on elementary education as well as local transportation. Folks are evaluating the costs involved with their telephones, cable and internet contracts. They will prefer to pay less. Print publishers will find bankruptcy a viable option.

Venus appears in the 4th House
Events at home are the preferred way to celebrate this Holiday Season. Businesses that cater to home parties will be busy. Folks who are shopping for a new home will find an excellent selection of properties and friendly mortgage payment options. It is wise to not sign any paperwork before December 15th.

Mars appears in the 12th House
Employees in government, charity and the medical industry find working conditions difficult at best. Scandals continue to plague the industry adding to the number of job openings at the management level.

Jupiter appears in the 8th House
Tax collections improve and it appears that the insurance industry could earn a profit. CEO's and political leaders are retiring from their positions. Markets are volatile during this Mercury rx, then improve slowly as the month ends.

November 18, 2011. With deep sorrow I regretfully share the sad news that my friend and business partner, Kaye Shinker, has passed from this world.

Kaye loved teaching, it was her joy and her passion to share with others what she knew. We will all miss her wisdom. The astrological world has lost a great teacher who contributed much to the study of financial astrology as well as all she contributed to the world she lived in.

The web site will be in transition for a period of time. I can not promise what newsletters and mailings will be sent since Kaye was the author of the New Moon newsletter and Fiscal Cents as well as most of the articles and blogs written for the web site and the blog. However, before her passing she has written the November, December New Moon, and the year ahead for Fiscal Cents, which I will share with you. Additionally, Kaye has written the Winter Solstice for 2011 which will also be posted.

I feel truly lost without her and miss her very much.- Marley

Scorpio New Moon
The focus of the Scorpio New Moon is on debt, taxes, insurance and how to avoid paying to much for all three. Opportunities abound to discover ways to spend fewer dollars on insurance and maintain the same benefits. Tax revenues continue to challenge local governments, but a few are finding creative new sources especially in the sin tax category.

The weather forecast is balmy for everyone with plenty of opportunities for scenic weekend outings.

Super New Moon
The Moon is perigee or at its closest point in its orbit around the Earth. Super Moons often predict natural disasters such as severe weather, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity. Richard Nolle created the term "Super New Moon". Click through to his article and explanation of the term.

Now is the time to accomplish your Holiday Shopping. It is also a good idea to write and send holiday party invitations. Remember the date of Mercury retrograde occurs on Thursday Nov. 24/American Thanksgiving. Expect your dinner guest to be late and your food to suffer from a forgetful cook. The Sagittarius New Moon is the next day and if you must go shopping remember to keep all expenditures under $20, save your receipts and avoid any written contracts. It is great time to do things that start with the prefix "re" A detailed discussion concerning the perils of Mercury Retrograde appears in Lesson 2 The Textbook for Financial Astrology. If you are a trader/investor these are perfect dates for a winter vacation.

October 28, Jupiter trine Pluto at 5° Taurus Capricorn
Jupiter began an applying trine with Pluto starting with the September 23rd Equinox. The aspect will end with the Spring 2012 Equinox. Everyone will strive for personal success. Agriculture and Business will find plenty of work and the energy to accomplish the goals they set. Business abroad will remain successful throughout this time period.

The exact aspect marks an up market and the midpoint of an extended period of buyouts, mergers and mega deals.

It is also a warning of bankruptcy among various financial institutions. It is very important to check the debt obligations of equities on your list of possible investments. Folks need to repeat the mantra "Cash is King" when judging investments and managing their own budgets.

November 9, Neptune direct at 28° Aquarius
Neptune direct indicates a continuation of up market. Often Neptune direct occurs just after the markets have made a move to the upside. Statistically this has happened 85% of the time during the past 12 years. Neptune's creativity has been most apparent in the electronics industry. During the past 14 years the creative nature of Neptune has brought a plethora of gadgets specifically designed to increase the speed of communications world wide. Technology will continue to expand, however the rate of innovation will slow. (Read the article, Neptune in Pisces)

The Scorpio New Moon appears in the 8th House (see chart above) The New Moon in the 8th focuses attention on debt and taxes and folks expect governments to keep both at a minimum. Governments expect taxpayers to dig deeper into their pockets therefore voters in local elections will find plenty of requests for increased taxes on their ballot. Voters will say No. Insurance companies will begin new ad campaigns designed to scare the average worker into buying their products.

Mercury appears in the 8th House
Scandals as well as retirements force changes at the managerial levels of government as well as large corporations. Expiring unemployment insurance will find a plethora of new business formation.

Venus appears in the 8th House
This is a month when folks will find they are able to earn their own income. Now is the best time to become self-employed before the end of the year tax bills need to be calculated.

Jupiter appears in the 2nd House
Earned income improves for everyone. Markets improve slowly throughout the month with less volatility. Folks continue to evaluate their banking arrangements and find alternative ways to pay for purchases.

Mars appears in the 6th House
Employers in the medical industry continue to hire new workers. Scandals plague the industry adding to the number of job openings at the management level.

Financial Astrology makes the Game FUN

Financial astrology gives you the confidence to get into the game and it even adds to the fun of watching and investing in the markets.

Consider August when Mercury was retrograde and everyone was positive the markets would tank. However you read the Leo New Moon report at Astrologicalinvesting.com. You knew this was a temporary phenomena. August had a very normal Mercury rx. About seven days into the 21 day cycle the markets hit a low, creeped along the low for a few days and then when Mercury went direct they returned to almost the same index number.

In the Leo New Moon news letter at Astrological Investing we explained the astrological phenomena and suggested that traders take a vacation.

Calendar Game

You will notice that each month we publish a calendar on the blog. Each day lists the time when the Moon makes an exact aspect to any planet as well as the times when planets make exact aspects to each other. Our students print the calendar then mark each day as to whether they think the markets will be up or down. They use the knowledge they gain from the Textbook for Financial Astrology as well as the rules they acquire from the Idiot and the Moon. After a few months of practice and a bit of back testing they might miss a day or two, but usually they catch even the interday changes in direction of the indexes.

Portfolio Game

Another game where students enjoy testing their knowledge is the portfolio game. Each of the e trading sites offers a practice portfolio where you can design a pretend portfolio and then try all of their bells and whistles. Our students learn how to chose stocks that are at a low and have a good chance of increasing in value. They learn to predict when to buy then when to sell the stock for a profit with the calendar as an additional tool to determine the mood of the markets.

Back testing Cycles

Every Financial Astrologer will explain how they back tested astrological patterns and arrived at their prediction for a particular aspect that will appear in the near future. This method works. It is also fun. However, before you put down real money you need to learn how to read the calendar and understand how each planet effects the progress of the markets.

Starting with the Textbooks for Financial Astrology, and the taking a class or two it takes only a few months to learn the basics and then it is a matter of practice, practice, practice. Goldman Sachs Red Flags

Notice GOLDMAN SACHS being associated with the Greek debt crisis.
How and when did Europe's crisis originate? Pat Hardy posted the following quote on Facebook. I thought you might find the charts of Goldman Sachs very interesting since the Incorporation chart clearly demonstrates one of the seven Red Flags I discuss in The Textbook for Financial Astrology Book 2 that investors need to check before putting cash into an equity.

"Let's start back in 2001, when 17 European countries scrapped their national currencies and replaced them with the euro. The new "eurozone" bloc permitted some of its economically weaker members to borrow money more cheaply than they 'd been able to do previously, because they benefited from the higher credit ratings of the region's stronger economies.
As a result, many European countries, including Greece and Ireland, began to take on debt. (In Greece's case, by the way, this effort was aided by Goldman Sachs, which, for a fee, came up with a clever way to allow Greece to disguise the extent of its borrowing). By early 2010, investors began to worry that those two countries, and also Portugal, might not be able to repay their obligations.
Details of the financial meltdowns have varied from country to country. In Greece, the problem was a culture of tax evasion, combined with excessive public spending. (As Michael Lewis of Vanity Fair wrote recently, to get around pay restraints in the calendar year, "the Greek government simply paid employees a 13th and even 14th monthly salary--months that didn't exist.") "

Two Red Flags Warn Investors

The astrology of Goldman's loss of value to shareholders begins with Neptune opposed Mercury in their Incorporation chart March 10 2009. I refer to the aspect as "Teller of Tall Tales" or exaggerating the truth. The GS stock price was $99. Their IPO chart had an excellent string of favorable Jupiter sextile itself and trine Venus and investors brought up the value of the stock. The aspect reappeared on Aug 24, 2009 ($164), and again January 11, 2010($165). Throughout 2010 and early 2011 the Incorporation and IPO charts continued their string of favorable Jupiter aspects leading to the IPO Jupiter return April 17 2011.($155) However in the Incorporation chart Pluto opposed Moon February 20, 2011 suggesting the investing public is concerned about the honesty of management reports. This aspect repeats May 29, 2011 ($135) and again December 20, 2011. (now $92)

November 2011 Solar Eclipse

Goldman Sachs, Pluto is at 5 degrees Sagittarius and the Nov. 25, 2011 will be at 2 Sag. Very close and asking the company to rethink its projection to the world. Also Uranus will be sextile its Neptune which will help them think through their PR at the moment but it is going to be very difficult for GS to escape their past transgressions as the Ides of March 2012 find Neptune moves to conjunct their South Node.

Both Incorporation and IPO charts have a huge variety of aspects throughout 2012 suggesting some price improvement after Uranus passes the Mid-heaven initiating radical changes in the structure and management of the company. For further timing on this stock, note the Inc. Mars and the IPO Sun.

Venus appears in the 1st House
Retail establishments will find shoppers asking for quality merchandise. Folks are concentrating on creating a new style, new colors, and a new look. Women are successful at finding paid employment that supports their goals.

Mars appears in the 10th House
A great deal of energy is directed at finding ways to complete military involvements. Businesses with contracts involved with military procurement will find fewer orders. The military will require fewer troops and thus lower the demand for goods and services contracts.

Jupiter appears in the 8th House
Paper work, insurance and taxes are in abundance. Much of it is required, but everyone is complaining that it is overabundant. Business continues to lose executives and critical employees to retirement or death.

Solar Returns

Solar Returns for a Business
Believe it or not you can actually calculate a solar return for a company. It is very difficult to find an accurate incorporation time for older companies or those Incorporated is most states. However Delaware puts a time stamp on the incorporation papers as soon as they arrive in their offices. The time stamped means that the company described in the papers is an official entity at exactly the time stamped.

Amazon's Solar Return

A Solar Return is calculated for the exact time the Sun returns to the degree, minutes, and seconds on the birthday of the company in this case.

Let's start by looking at Amazon's Solar return and maybe we can determine how the company will progress in the world of business during the year ahead.

     1st We look at the house where the Sun appears. The fourth house has to do with home or real estate.
     Amazon is looking for new places to locate their warehouses.
     2nd We look at the house where Jupiter appears. Oh my Jupiter has lots of friends in the third house.
     Since Amazon is in the book, education and communications business, this is a year where Amazon will be very successful with this line of its merchandise.
     3rd We look for Saturn and where they will have problems. Saturn is in the Eighth house and that means taxes. Amazon is currently engaged in a dispute concerning sales tax collections in California.

That was easy. The current headlines almost wrote the predictions for Amazon's year ahead.

Disney

Now let's take a look at Disney's reincorporation chart.

     1st The Sun appears in the tenth house which represents the top executives in the company. The executives will work hard and bring honor to the company. Venus is also in the tenth and one might speculate that a female executive will also bring honor to the company.
     2nd We look at Jupiter and it appears in the seventh house. Their Public Relations department will be very successful promoting new Disney films and products.
     3rd Saturn in the first house of the Solar Return they will have a lot of work to do keeping the family friendly image that describes the products sold by the company.

I chose companies with a July birthday so you could see that their solar return has already begun to affect their business. As they move through the year they will use the energy of the planets in the various houses of their Solar Return. If you work for a company or own some of their shares, you might construct a solar return and see where they will shine (Sun), work hard (Jupiter), and run into problems (Saturn).

USING PLANETARY ASPECTS IN THE FINANCIAL MARKET

Wouldn't it be great if one could say with certainty that when a certain planet transits another planet the stock market will go up, or that the stock you just bought this morning will increase significantly in it's price per share by tomorrow? Why, we'd all be rich! Unfortunately there is always room for more than one interpretation of geocosmic energy and there is always risk involved in the financial markets.

Nothing is quite so simple. However, if we do our homework well and then use astrological principles to help time when we buy and sell stocks, we have the potential to increase our profits and greatly limit our downside risk in the financial market. Potential is the keyword here.

The best way to use astrology for timing the buying and selling of stocks is to follow the principles that Kaye Shinker lays out in her Textbooks for Financial Astrology. Then choose a sound and solid stock in a favorable sector. Textbook 2 explains the astrological research involved in doing that.

Then, most importantly, research how that stock has performed during past transits by comparing the stock price chart to the transits of the IPO chart of the stock. For researching stocks according to their IPO and incorporation dates, the very best and most reliable source to use is Michael Munkasey's Company Data. Historical prices are easily downloaded in Excel form from Yahoo Finance to your computer.

ASPECTS

Rule #1 for a Financial Astrologer: DO NOT think in terms of "Good" = "Trines and Sextiles" and that "Bad" = "Squares and Oppositions". You may find yourself being surprised at what can move a stock price! The benefic planets still seem to line up as "good" planets in financial astrology, but it is the dynamic energy from 4th harmonic aspects that creates price change and market movement. Trines and sextiles can be just a momentary blip up in the price on a day when the entire market is substantially down.

Aspects used in financial astrology and how they manifest in the market are discussed in great detail in Kaye Shinker's online classes. Kaye's students have found that class discussion of real time market situations and seeing how aspects work in action help get a better perspective on the planetary energy.
Although there is no cosmic guarantee that a particular aspect will predict either a rising or falling market or stock price, there are a number of geocosmic contacts that often do produce a predictable rise or drop in price!

As a guideline, I urge that when using astrological cookbook interpretations to always first look at the stock's IPO chart and/or chart of incorporation to see how planets are aspected in the horoscope. Generally, I go by the "nothing promised, nothing gained/ or lost" theory proclaimed by astrologers Ivy Goldstein Jacobson and other traditionalists, who have taught that if there is not an aspect in the natal chart between planets then there is "no promise" (no significant - if any at all - impact ) from an applying aspect between the same two planets in any future chart.

I have found if a planet is not aspected strongly in the IPO chart of a stock chances are, when transited, the price movement will not be significant or sustaining in either direction - up or down. Additionally, if a stock is badly aspected by a planet in it's IPO chart then a planet which is considered to bring about a bullish rise may surprise you when it does the very opposite! (And visa versa, if a stock is aspected very well by a planet that is considered to bring about a bearish movement - you may not see a negative effect, in fact, it can be very positive!)

Using a First Trade chart (IPO) you must take into consideration (1) the chart of incorporation, (2) the daily aspects of the moon, and which the phase the Moon is in (New or Full or Quarter Moon phase) and (3) pay attention to the unfolding geocosmic energy from planets. Especially important are which aspects are applying to the First Trade chart as well as the financial sector of the stock at the same time as the stock chart.

In Bill Meridian's book, Planetary Stock Trading - III, (available in our Amazon Bookshop) he gives a list of Bullish and Bearish planetary combinations by transit that, in my experience, I've found to be very reliable. The following is a list of transiting planetary contacts that he lists (and a few I have added) - primarily 4th Harmonic aspects - that have more often than not proved reliably as favorable (or unfavorable) and generally have moved the market and stock prices:

BULLISH ASPECTS -
Major aspects from Jupiter to most planets and points. Jupiter is very favorable to all planets and points with the exception of Jupiter aspects to Mars and Saturn which can trigger both favorable and unfavorable price swings. (Remember to look at the IPO chart to see how these planets are connected)

Major aspects between Sun and Venus are generally favorable.

Major aspects from Neptune to the Sun and to Venus. (With Neptune comes times of uncertainty filled with hopes, wishes and dreams - they often coincide with false rumors and illusions. Be sure to take careful note of how Neptune is aspected in the IPO chart!)

Major aspects from Uranus to Venus and to the chart angles are generally favorable. (Note: one must be very certain of the accuracy of chart data if using angles and pay attention to how well Uranus is placed in the chart!)

BEARISH ASPECTS -
Major aspects by Saturn to most planets, and points - with the exception of aspects from transiting Saturn to Mercury and Mars which can trigger both favorable and unfavorable price swings.

Major Uranus and Neptune aspects to Pluto.

Major Pluto aspects to an angle or the Lunar nodes. (Again, be certain of the chart!)

A takeover can be favorable or unfavorable to a stock's price per share. Pluto, representing power and control, is often involved by transiting aspect in buyouts and takeovers of corporations. Jupiter-Pluto an aspect representing optimism, expansion, change and a thrust toward power and success is often very favorable.

Eclipses - An eclipse can have a positive or negative effect that may last as long as two or three months depending upon the planet aspected by the eclipse. Eclipses impact the market and the movement of stock prices by triggering, or turning on, whatever planets they touch within 3 degrees of the applying eclipse aspect. This geocosmic energy can be triggered during the eclipse or later when a transiting planet (particularly Mars) activates the eclipse degree by aspect. The hard aspects, especially the conjunction and square are most notable. Aspects to either Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus or the stock chart angles from an eclipse are all favorable. Generally they will give rise in the price per share of a stock, while eclipses to Saturn and Pluto do the opposite and tend to drive a stock price down. During an eclipse stock prices can be unpredictable and erratic.

An important note about the the transiting Moon! - Always, always, always, pay attention to the daily aspects of the Moon! The Moon will trigger applying geocosmic aspects into play, as well as determine the general mood - minute by minute - hour by hour - of the market each day. Day traders can use the times when the Moon forms an aspect to time intra-day turning points or reversals. On days when the Moon makes many aspects the market often has large volumes of buying and selling, while days when there are not many or no aspects, the market can be slow or filled with uncertainty. Some astrologers prefer not to trade during the Void-of-Course Moon, (as well as during Mercury RX), but I have not been convinced that one necessarily should avoid the market during these times. Also, the phase the Moon is in - New, Full or Quarter Moon phases - is important in timing.

In this article Mr. Ashbourne gives interpretations of the Moon through the signs and how they affect the market. I find both of these articles quite noteworthy and recommend them for reading. Highly recommended is Randall's book, "The Idiot & the Moon" available on our web site.

Transiting planets and geocosmic combinations of aspects influence the market in many different ways, and each combination of energy driven by the transits of planets has both positive and negative influences depending upon many different types of circumstances including the influences of the greater cycles of geocosmic energy - cycles of the outer planets - that are unfolding at the same time. Always check your ephemeris and pay particular attention to the trending market and the unfolding cycles.

The focus of the Virgo New Moon is on children and giving them extra time. If you are an investor pay attention to the products they choose for back-to-school. Also watch the types of entertainment they appreciate.

Commodities are the focus of speculators and those with good trading skills will profit easily. Gold and silver prices are volatile rising and falling with news concerning interest rates on fiat currency. Shipping grains to the markets where they are needed will be a challenge.

The New Moon starts a very interesting and busy week for all of the leaders of business in the USA. Saturn will return to the same position as Saturn in the USA 4th of July chart. Expect businesses to change leadership and for a number of managers to announce their retirement plans.

Sun Spots could be a problem around the date of the Virgo New Moon. From the Heliocentric point of view Uranus, Jupiter and Mercury will be in Aries opposed Saturn. The weather forecast is windy for areas east of the Mississippi and the west has a good chance of being blessed with precipitation. Be sure to check your emergency supplies.

Throughout the past few months, students at Astrological Investing have researched days when the Moon was Void of Course during trading hours. Their conclusion is a Long Void of Course Moon will indicate a volatile market with dramatic ups in the Index averages 90% of the time. During the next few months Neptune will be at 28° and 29° degrees of Aquarius with the other planets in early degrees of their sign. Check your calendar (link) if you are trading in Australia or London time zones. For New York, VOC Moons for the entire trading day: August 30 and September 26.

The New Moon Chart and Planets through the houses - New Moon in the 5th house
Elementary Education is the focus of attention. Back to school is fashionable and students of various ages are returning to acquire new skills. August 30 Jupiter retrograde at 10 Taurus
Jupiter Rx rarely signals a trend change. Jupiter returns to the early degrees of Taurus bringing a renewed interest in banking and financial services. Difficult weather patterns in the Spring have generated a great deal of speculation in commodity stocks. At this point in time harvests are counted. Jupiter in Taurus usually brings an abundance of corn and beans therefore expect a lower price. Drought conditions in the west has forced cattlemen to cull their herds therefore feed for livestock should be in abundant supply.

The Dow falls 70% of the time after Pluto turns direct. I explained to a student that on average the market rises 56% of the time over year. In other words it is not a coin flip. I Wanted to share with you the beginning of an important 127 year cycle which will continue to unfold especially in the 2012-2015 time period.

Uranus - Pluto Conjunction 10/9/1965 at 17 Vrigo

It is the Uranus- Pluto conjunction which began 10/9/1965 at 17 Virgo. It had 3 connections with each other, the others were 4/4/66 and 6/30/66. Making the 16-17 VIRGO sensitive degrees.

Rebellious 60's

I associate the rebellious 60's with this planetary synodic cycle because it has all the signatures of freedom to the people and breaking away from the 1950's mentality. So issues around the Virgo-Pisces energies of this time period brings in the change of music, psychedelics, due to marijuana, LSD, cocaine and other recreational drugs of the era. That opened minds in many ways , a new era of awareness happened. As far as the economy is concerned it was not in good shape then either, mainly due to the Viet Nam war; hence why so many people gathered together to rebel against the war. One of the icons of this era was John Lennon and the Beatles....Give Peace a Chance.

Inflationary late '70's

Neptune Station at 16' Sagittarius

I regressed a bit, moving forward we have the outer planet connection which is Neptune at 16-17 Sagittarius in 1977-78 square to this Uranus-Pluto synod. Neptune actually was at stationary retrograde right on 16 Sagittarius March 17, 1977! When the planet, Uranus rings were discovered within days of this station.

Neptune went on to hit these degrees 12/77 through 1/78, 5/78 through 7/78 and final encounter 11/78. August 1977, U.S. President Jimmy Carter signs legislation creating the United States Department of Energy. Oil prices were beginning to climb as the Arab World accelerated their dominance with oil! A perfect Neptune square Uranus-Pluto manifestation.

OH! but wait....

Then Uranus in 2007-2008 was at 16-17 Pisces making an opposition to the 1965 conjunction which accelerated PEAK OIL problems and the acute awareness to the financial (mortgage crisis and Lehman Bros) and economic problems (global debt) we are still dealing with today on a global scale.

There are other signatures of this era too lengthy to bring them all forward, but this 127-yr synodic cycle of Uranus -Pluto is a strong one and in order to make the changes under the waxing square we will need ALL of the 7 connections to the upcoming Uranus square Pluto to do it!! It brings more power to the people, but in large numbers, to make the quantum leap of change which is coming.

Using Daily Aspect Calendars to Time Intraday Trades

Readers have asked me if I day trade - and the answer is: Yes, sometimes. I prefer swing trading, which I would define as a larger price move over a longer timeframe than intraday.

Sometimes, that’s short-term (a few days), intermediate (a few weeks), or long-term (months or more).

In truth, all trades are swing trades; it simply depends on whether one is following The Idiot (as explained in my e-book titled, The Idiot and The Moon, Compleat and Utter Lunatic Idiot's Guide to Trading Stocks, on a monthly, weekly, daily, or one-hour chart.

Moon phase trades are swing trades; trying to capitalise on the statistical tendency of markets to change direction at the New Moon, Full Moon and First and Third quarter dates.

But, the Moon’s effect on “mood” is not confined simply to those recurring phases every 28 days. Markets will move according to the Moon’s daily aspects to other planets and, even more importantly, according to the sign it’s currently traversing.

To make full use of these daily aspects, it’s necessary to know at least a little something about astrological symbolism. It doesn’t have to be a lot! Some fairly basic knowledge could be useful in helping to time trades better, so I’ll try to explain some of it here in relatively simple terms.

My friends Kaye Shinker and Marlene Pfeifle, at astrologicalinvesting.com, provide a very useful service once a month - calendars showing the exact time of aspects between the planets and the daily aspects and sign changes of la Lune, for New York, London and Sydney.

To use the information effectively, you first have to know the direction of the current trend - and that’s something The Idiot, in my e-book, defines very well.

You could also incorporate the information into your Moon Trading. (Read my article, The Moods of the Moon - Trading the Mood Swings of the Monthly Lunar Cycle )

And as I try to stress in my book, it’s just as important to know when NOT to trade, or to at least adjust one’s Time and Price expectations, as it is to hold one’s nerve and be prepared for the good moves when they come. All of this is detailed in the final chapter - how to judge the length of Time phases and get ready for the fast-moving Price phases.

Of course, these Time and Price phases occur over all timeframes - and they have a great deal to do with The Moods of The Moon, even in its daily travels.

Each month, the Moon will travel through each sign of the zodiac - but, it’s not necessarily the Cardinal signs, the “action” signs, which produce the most price action.

There are two signs which tend to produce large movements - Gemini and Sagittarius. When the Moon is in Gemini, there are often big price moves BOTH ways. When it’s in Sagittarius, the big price moves tend to be in one direction.

Now, usually, Sagittarian moves are unduly optimistic. Just occasionally, they will go entirely in the other direction. Jupiter/Sagittarius “exaggerates” - which is very nice if you’re Long and the mood is optimistic. But, just occasionally, it is fear that gets exaggerated.

The Moods of The Moon I must stress have only a minor effect if there are significant aspects occurring between other planets. It’s all about “level”.

Nevertheless, there are times the effects can be exploited quite profitably.

Moon In The Signs

ARIES - The effect is aggressive and the Moon travelling in Aries can start a move in a direction likely to last for a couple of days. Since Uranus is now in Aries, the Moon and Uranus will be in the same section of the sky, a conjunction, and the action is likely to be both sudden and surprising.

TAURUS - This is the most stable sign of the zodiac. Any move which starts under the Arien influence can be expected to consolidate for a day or two, or at least slow down. Since Jupiter is currently in the early part of Taurus, the Moon and Jupiter will be conjunct and, rather than slow down, the symbolism points towards steady, solid rises.

GEMINI - Price swings, often wildly and often in both directions, as if the market can’t make up its mind. That’s because it can’t.

CANCER - Is one of the action signs, but it is not openly aggressive in most circumstances. One of the keywords for Cancer is “protective”. The wild price swings of the Gemini period give way, once again, to more consolidation as traders on both sides move to “protect” profits already locked in. At the moment, Mars is in Cancer and the “softness” of the Moon and the hard edge of Mars are not normally energies which lock together smoothly.

LEO - Is the sign of speculation and gambling. Once again, the “mood” shifts and some market will move. It won’t necessarily be stocks, because Leo rules gold.

VIRGO - The most practical sign of the zodiac. The Moon here will want to run through the numbers and see some real evidence that the asking price is actually worth it. It’s a more careful and considered energy at play.

LIBRA - Is the sign of “balance”, which is something rarely achieved. The scales shift back and forth, weighing the speculation of Leo against the critical examination of Virgo, to try to find direction for the next move. Currently, Saturn is in Libra and the Moon conjunct Saturn can be a very negative influence.

SCORPIO - Watch for the potential of Big Money Manipulation. The sign of Sagittarius is coming up and the big boys are trying to position themselves to sting the unwary.

SAGITTARIUS - Usually unduly optimistic. If there’s going to be a sudden spurt, or strong countertrend, this is when it’s most likely to occur. This is not a freight train to step in front of, regardless of whether it’s a rocket ride or a plunge.

CAPRICORN - Prices tend to stabilise again.

AQUARIUS - Always difficult to predict with accuracy - since the sign symbolises the weird, the wacky, the sudden shock or surprise. It is the most Fixed and stubborn of all the signs and has a complete disregard for hard evidence which conflicts with what it wants to do.

PISCES - Gets an undeserved bad rap from many astrologers. In terms of financial astrology, it’s when the lies get told, usually a lot of gilding for the lily … the GDP figures which are boundlessly optimistic.

Moon In Aspect

We already know the key phases of the Moon’s monthly aspects - those it makes with the Sun: the New Moon (conjunction), Full Moon (opposition), First Quarter (square) and Third Quarter (square).

So, it shouldn’t be too hard to come to grips with the terms conjunction, opposition and square - especially for Moon Traders.

These three are “hard” aspects; they imply action.

And so, we just have to adjust the “level” of our thinking to include more than just the Moon’s aspects to the Sun.

The benefic planets are: Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and, often, Neptune.

The “malefic” planets are: Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto.

So, Lunar aspects of any kind to the first group tend to symbolise a “mood” which encourages higher prices.

Hard aspects, the conjunction, opposition, or square, to any of the other planets tend to suggest a bad mood Moon with the potential for prices to fall.

The “soft” aspects are the sextile and the trine. Of the two, the trine is stronger.

Many astrologers will tell you a trine is a positive aspect. It ain’t necessarily so. It is usually so. But, not always.

A trine means the energy flows smoothly. Now, it’s simply a fact that the atmosphere goes haywire when the Sun is in hard aspect with some other planets. It’s when Solar storms reach their peak. Blah blah.

When the planets are in sextile or trine, energy patterns do not conflict with each other. In the case of the trine the impact tends to be the rapid removal of obstacles.

So, if a market has been struggling - up or down - the arrival of a trine symbolises the timing of when the struggle will stop and direction will be resolved. In fact, the move could already be underway, having started as soon as the previous Moon aspect finished.

In effect, it will mark the end of a Time phase, regardless of the timeframe we're looking at, and the probable start of a Price phase.

Now, I realise this might all seem a bit complicated - especially to those without any training in astrological symbolism. So, I’ll try to state the likely impacts very simply.

The Sun or the Moon making a conjunction, sextile or trine - what I call a kissy-smoochy - to any of the “nice” planets will tend to increase stock prices. Similarly, for Mercury and Venus, who are also fast movers.

If any of them makes a hard aspect to a nasty planet, prices will tend to decline down into the time the aspect is exact.

There are some very important exceptions to this!

If you find that Price simply flatlines as the Moon is heading for a nice aspect with Jupiter, the probability is that markets are in a downtrend and will continue falling as soon as the aspect is finished.

Conversely, if Price does NOT decline, but flatlines, as the Moon makes a conjunction to Saturn, then the probability is that, once the pressure is off, Prices will rise.

This is very, very important to watch for! Moon making kissy-smoochy with Jupiter SHOULD bring on a Price increase. If it does not, then “something else” is happening and one needs to be very careful.

Moon making nasties with Saturn should be DEPRESSING. If it’s not, then “something else” is happening and, if you’re Short, be aware you may need to scramble to cover the Shorts as soon as the aspect is finished.

It may be that, during a confirmed Idiot uptrend, the Moon-Saturn aspect provides the ideal trade re-entry.

And it may also be that, during a confirmed Idiot downtrend, Moon kissy-smoochy Jupiter is the ideal point to get out of your Longs.

For anyone trading intraday, it would be very worthwhile downloading the monthly aspect calendars from AstrologicalInvesting and watching the timing of daily turns.

One more thing. Last weekend, I said I believe most of the populist astrological lore about Mercury Retrograde is nonsense. Actually, I said: bullshit.

Well, I have the same view of Void of Course Moons. I emphatically disagree that “nothing happens” when the Moon is Void of Course (makes no further aspects before leaving the sign it’s in).

In fact, I have really, really, really strong views about both and have a great deal of trouble not launching into a tirade about what I regard as superficial, populist poop.

A Void of Course Moon in stock trading does NOT mean nothing will happen. Now, it IS true that is sometimes the case; Price will simply reach a level and flatline for a few hours.

However, it is my experience that MORE often, markets WILL move, and move substantially, while the Moon is finalising its passage through a sign - and it depends almost entirely on what sign and what the FIRST aspect is the Moon will make when it changes signs.

So, be aware that a Void of Course Moon can ACCELERATE or CHANGE the trend currently in play … and that the acceleration or change will continue until the Moon changes signs.

Those of you who have been told not to trade during Mercury Rx, or VOC Moons, need to know that it is one view.

But, there is another view that is VERY emphatically different. Both Merc Rx and VOC Moons often provide excellent trading opportunities. It’s just that they’re very short-term opportunities.

The Yuan

The nickname for the Chinese Currency is Yuan. It's official name is Renminbi. The year before the Chinese Communists took control of the government of China, they opened the Bank of China and issued their new currency.

This chart assumes that the Bank of China opened at 9:00 am and immediately used their currency. The Reminibi is difficult to check because the bank makes decisions whether or not to allow the value to float at preannounced meetings. During the past few years the Yuan was allowed to float when Pluto made a conjunction to the Mars/Jupiter at 3 degrees Capricorn.

A quick look at this chart and immediately you see transiting Saturn moving to a conjunction with Neptune. I like to attribute the rulership of paper currency as well as interest rates to Neptune. When Saturn passed over Neptune in December 2010 and March 2011 the Bank of China raised interest rates. The bank says it will raise interest rates again during August. Since December the Yuan has gradually lost value against world currencies. The Yuan has moved from USC/CNY 6.67 in December 2010 to USD/CNY 6.44 August 7, 2011.

November 24, 2011 there will be a solar eclipse exactly on the Yuan's Mercury and very close to the Yuan's Sun. News from the Chinese bank will be difficult to translate into Western banking terms and the Western currencies will find Chinese policies difficult to understand.

Until August 31 expect Chinese interest rates to go up and the value of the Yuan to fluctuate rapidly against world currencies. Starting September 1, 2011 expect the Yuan to increase gradually in value as the Chinese bank brings home Yuan in a play to become recognized as a reserve currency. However at the end of October a string of Jupiter transits will force the Chinese bank will return to printing money to overcome pressures from the speculators.

Interesting China invented paper currency and has a checkered history of devaluing the paper with the printing press.

The Moods of the Moon

Trading the mood swings of the monthly Lunar cycle will produce three-to-six times the profit of a simple, buy-and-hold strategy. I know that’s a dramatic call, but I intend to prove it.

All astrologers, and not a few experienced traders, know that – statistically – Full Moons tend to occur near temporary price lows and that New Moons tend to occur near short-term price highs.

And we all know there are Lies, Damned Lies – and Statistics. Many of the Lunar trading articles found easily on the internet tend to suggest the potential gains are relatively minor, or that the phenomenon inverts so often that it can’t be used as a reliable trading technique.

Even if we go to the trouble of mapping the Loonytoons on a price chart, a simple eyeball of the chart tends to make us think it works some of the time, but can be downright dangerous to our cash at other times – as with this 2011 chart of the SP500.
What “eyeballing” does is give you an impression. It doesn’t give you the facts.

Over the past year I decided to test the assertions for myself and log the results in a spreadsheet to test just how profitable it is to trade the mood swings of the Moon. The results were simply mind-blowing.(click the image to view larger size)

Not simply because they showed truly massive stock market profits during certain periods, but also because they showed when it was absolutely UNSAFE to risk your money.

What I discovered was that, statistically, the old assertions not only hold up, but when traded consistently over time, produce big profits for small amounts of time exposed to market conditions.

By introducing a simple mechanical filter before making a decision to trade, the spreadsheets showed not only which Moon phases could be traded safely, and when, but which trades should NOT be placed under any circumstances.

The results were so staggering they form a standalone system of trading in my new book, The Idiot and the Moon. But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so let’s see what the facts are when we trade The Moods of The Moon during the first 6 months of 2011 on the SP500.

With the New Moon in the 1st house, folks are in a happy mood feeling very patriotic. They are sharing their experiences over the past few years and evaluating the changes required on a personal level. Managers are examining their business plans as they reorganize how they present their products/service to the public. Expect change at every level of the retail sector.

The Cancer New Moon is a Solar Eclipse at 9° Cancer
This eclipse is the beginning of Saros cycle #156. A Saros cycle is a period of about 18 years between repetitions of solar and lunar eclipses. The Wikipedia link gives an animated illustration of a Saros Cycle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saros_cycle

It is said that events and attitudes initiated during the first eclipse of a cycle carry through whenever an eclipse for the numbered cycle reappears. In financial astrology we watch for a Nodal Return and expect that technology associated with the particular company will change thus a crisis in the company concerning new personnel or machinery. A new series means this is the moment of the paradigm shift we are expecting. Expect change.

The eclipse falls across the South Pacific hugging the Antarctic.

Check the horoscopes of family and friends for planets within 5 degrees of 9 Cancer. (Finally initiating his transit of Taurus, Jupiter will increase the supply of corn, beans, copper, and bling. The Internet is initiating various new financial opportunities for venture capitalists.

Calendar

Students at Astrological Investing have a Textbook but also have a calendar. They use the one we place on the blog around the 20th of each month for the month ahead. You will notice there are three, one for Australia's time zone, one for London and one for New York.

The Calendar Game
Sometimes we play a game with the calendars attempting to predict the week ahead for the market in their time zone. We look at the aspects of the Moon to each planet as well as the aspects of the planets to each other. In a few months the students become very astute at predicting the daily ups and downs of each market. We consider it an up day if the index averages go up more that 4/10ths of a percent and a down day if the index averages go down more than 4/10ths of a percent. All other days are called even.

Nothing Will Happen on a VOC Moon?

Wrong! The Textbook lessons are arranged according to the frequency of planetary phenomena changes. Lesson 1 Book 1 is The Void of Course Moon. Years and years of astrologers experience has determined: Moon void of course is not good for starting a business because nothing will happen. The question then becomes is that also true for the markets? Answer: NO

Long VOC Moons Summer 2011

During the summer of 2011 there will be a number of long void of course Moons during trading hours. The dates you need to highlight on your calendar are June 22, July 6,8,12,15,29, Aug. 2,10,15&16, and Aug 25. The reason there are so many is that Neptune is at zero degrees Pisces and the other outer planets are in early degrees of their sign. Yellow highlight pens are excellent for marking this phenomena after you print your calendar page.

In the article for the summer solstice 2011 I suggested that these long VOC Moon's would predict a volatile market and indeed they do. However, it seems statistically they also predict a higher market index at the end of the trading day. During the past 110 trading days starting with January 2, 2011 the moon was VOC 18 days during trading hours on the NYSE. According to my statistics I found 14 VOC Moon days when the Dow average was up, two days the average was down, and 2 days the average moved only a few points.

When you are finished, take a look at your portfolio and determine which stocks are dead money; research their past performance and sell the ones that say "it is time to find new ways to invest your cash".

South Node appears in the 8th House with North Node in the 2nd - The Nodes in Sagittarius/Gemini should mark the bottom of the housing market with a gradual leveling of price while they transit these signs. Their position in 2 and 8 indicates renewed discussions on various financing plans. Individual home contract loans could regain their popularity.

Mercury appears in the 7th House - Many treaties and alliances are called into question. Trade treaties present confusing problems for diplomats.

Venus appears in the 7th House - Wedding industry continues to thrive and new business partnerships are formed. It is an excellent time to formulate a business plan where starting with a minimum of capital is required.

Mars appears in the 7th House - Military expenditures are questioned. The public demands butter for guns, however threats from the Near East continue. Mars is rather lazy in Taurus and prefers not to be involved in any conflicts.

Jupiter appears in the 6th House - Finally away from the opposition to Saturn and moving into Taurus, Jupiter will increase the supply of corn, beans, copper, and bling. The price of these items will gradually decrease and commodities volatility will make financial news headlines. Easy Predictions with Solar Returns.

The chart pictured above is the Solar Return for the Dow Index's birthday May 27. It will be 115 years old. For its 2010 Solar Return the planets were scattered in every house of its chart making every aspect possible. The Dow had a low of 9600 and a recent high of almost 13,000. Wild and crazy all over Wall Street. With a stellium in the 12th trine Saturn it looks like they will be cleaning up a lot of garbage and muddle through all the challenges to their authority. See if you can make a prediction. OK ? Then share your thoughts.

If the horoscope has an accurate time of birth then calculating and reading a solar return is an excellent way to find some interesting information about your year ahead. Four planets in the fifth house suggests I will have lots of fun in 2011. Who knows maybe I will sell some stocks and buy new ones. That would be fun. As a matter of fact I've already made a 10% profit selling one stock and buying another. After all my birthday was six weeks ago.

Corporate Solar Returns
OK the idea works with my chart and it definitely works with friends and family charts, but what about the charts of companies. One problem we have with very old companies is an accurate time of day when they were incorporated. Without a good time then the Solar Return is not very useful. However, companies incorporated in Delaware are given a time stamp and Mike Munkasey has recorded these times in his Company Data Base. Let's take a look at a few Dow stocks and quickly back test their Solar Return.

Boeing
Boeing had Jupiter Uranus conjunct in the second house of it 2010 solar return. They had a record amount of orders and tested their Dreamliner 787. In 2011 they are set to build a new facility in South Carolina and Saturn is in the 4th house of the 2011 return suggesting that this will be a difficult situation throughout the year ahead.

Caterpillar

Caterpillar had Saturn in the 4th house of its 2011 return and they are steeped in controversy with the high taxes in their home state Illinois even threatening to move. 2011 promises to be an exciting year at Caterpillar with 5 planets in the 10th and Venus in the 8th promising pending orders will be completed and money paid. During 2010 Caterpillar had a first house stellium in its solar return and the company became well known in the marketplace with its ability to sell earthmoving equiptment. Pluto in the 11th said the stockholders were very happy as the price of the stock went up 50% and their dividends increased.

Dell

Dell has spent most of its 2010 Solar return working at home getting its house in order with Saturn, Sun Mercury and Venus in the 4th. Advertising has been good with Jupiter and Uranus in the 9th but Moon in the 10th shows leadership at all levels constantly changing. 2011 looks a lot better with planets in each of the money houses. Their sales will improve and finally they will take new product risks.

The Taurus New Moon stellium in the second house of the Washington, D.C. chart suggests all sorts of emphasis on earned income.

With the New Moon in the Second House, everyone feels a burst of energy and creativity. They are evaluating their skills and considering ways to apply the skills to new enterprises.

People are working and earning money to spend on special gifts for their family and friends. They are adding value to their environment and making their individual lives more comfortable and efficient. The Moon has just left a trine to Pluto, therefore people feel empowered to take control of their environment and will spend extra time and money to make it as comfortable as possible.

Venus appears in the 2nd House

Pressure on lending institutions continues as entrepreneurs apply for funds to finance their innovative ideas. Individuals are finding plenty of work and their earnings increase the supply of tax income for every level of government. Income from dividends adds to the economy. It is important to remember to choose investments carefully.

Mercury appears in the 2nd House

Summer Solstice

James ( student) has the charts for currencies listed below neatly lined up and not exactly sure what to think about the summer solstice, Jupiter changing signs into Taurus, the Gemini and Cancer eclipses. It definitely looks like a problem. But how will the problem manifest?

Past chart testing has shown us that the summer solstice will reverse a currency trend and usually during the week before the Sun enters Cancer. Will a natural disaster change the trend? Will a reserve currency lose its credibility? Will oil or gold reverse their rising price? The idea is to take the charts of the dollar, pound, yen, gold and oil and see if the summer solstice chart has an effect after we mark in the eclipse points.

The solstice has a grand cardinal square (mid-point 7.5 degrees) with Mercury making the final aspect of a square to Saturn. The next almost exact aspect ( zero Pisces/Gemini) is Mars square Neptune. The Moon just finished a trine to Mercury (10 Pisces/Cancer)and at the end of the day the Sun will trine Neptune (Zero Pisces/Cancer). There will be a very definite and loud change in monetary policy.

We do know that the Federal Reserve will complete its program of monetary easing. We do not know how the change will effect reserve currency. Gold will maintain its power to influence currency world wide until November 2013 while transiting Pluto makes a series of conjunctions to its Sun.

Thinking Opposite is the trick to currency.

Using the gold, yen, dollar combination in a triple wheel chart we find gold's Sun conjunct Yen's Saturn and semi-sextile dollar's Venus therefore suggesting Yen will sell treasuries and use its funds to buy gold or pay bills. Therefore expect its trend to be: It will take fewer yen to buy a dollar.

Euro (1/1/1999) has Moon conjunct the South Node of the Bank of England (7/27/1694, can't find a useful pound chart) and the North Node of the Pound is conjunct the Mars of the dollar at 2 Capricorn. This means they will trade together with this powerful conjunction that holds them together making a conjunction/opposition to the Solstice Sun. Trading them one against the other would not be profitable.

The dollar's problem is Mars at zero degrees setting off a lot of action in its valuation. The Fed seems scheduled to act with the June eclipse conjunct the Fed's Saturn this would cause them to be slightly unhappy and raise interest rates. It might also explain to Congress that an intelligent move would be to allow corporate American to bring overseas cash to the US. It is going to take a great deal of intense discussion to accomplish the task. An eclipse to Saturn means that changes are slow an deliberate.

Oil

Transiting Jupiter trines the natal Jupiter of OPEC (9/14/1960)and promises an increase in the supply of oil therefore a lower price and in a few weeks Jupiter will trine the Virgo planets in OPEC's chart promising even more abundant supplies of oil. Oil has another problem with the July eclipse on the Moon of OPEC and problems with taxes, insurance as well as fewer members in the organization.

New technology will also bring down price near the summer solstice. Uranus in the Titusville chart ( 8/27/1859) is fairly close to the June eclipse at 11 Gemini suggesting new technology will effect price. Also an aspect from the asteroid Vesta ( goddess of the hearth) to the North Node could indicate folks just stay home and boycott the price.

Maybe you can find something in the Textbooks that are a bit more optimistic. The next few months will be extremely interesting and following the price of gas will be an intellectual challenge. $20 for 5 gallons of gas is a wallet challenge.

Money and Practical Astrology

New Moon in Taurus means Frugal.
It is a perfect time to open a savings account where you want the money to stay put and not sneak away on trivial "I wants" In fact my Moon in Taurus savings account just gave my car a tow truck ride. Insurance covered the ride but I had to pay cash to the driver and wait for the insurance check.

Savings accounts are also handy for depositing refund checks, birthday checks and even rolls of nickels and pennies. Lovable savings accounts collect a few dollars here and a few dollars there and pretty soon you are talking about an online trading account. "FUN"

The sign of the Sun and/or Moon will help you decide when to purchase big ticket items. A new computer would prefer a Moon in Aquarius, a new refrigerator would prefer a Moon in Cancer, and a new car would enjoy a Moon in Gemini. Problem is that we usually do not purchase big ticket items until the old one breaks beyond repair. However, if you can wait a day or a week give it a try.

Speaking of repairs, Mercury rx is the best time to "fix it". When you take the old clunker to the shop, bring a book, your homework and your knitting. Mercury rx "fix it" usually require double the amount of time to accomplish the work. Also be sure you have a written estimate before they start the job.

There are events where you can control the start up date.
If you are starting a new business, you may wish to have the Sun sign for the business in the sign most favorable for the product or service the business offers. If you are selling your house, you might chose an excellent time to list the property. If you are planning to make a long term investment, it is really a good idea to find a good day to sign the papers. If you are plan to start a club or begin a charity project then it is really a good idea to chose an auspicious day and time.

My Textbook for Financial Astrology Book 1 will give you a good start at finding the perfect date. After you read the book you could look up some businesses you knew and loved. Did they have a Jupiter rx and therefore a lazy salesman? Did their Neptune square Mercury and the employees robbed them blind? Did you purchase that "lemon" under a Mercury rx or did the Moon VOC catch the business and one month later you hung up the "going out of business sign".

Stars Retreat April 1, 2, & 3, 2011

Marlene and I had the exciting opportunity to soak up 48 hours of non stop knowledge from Rob Hand. We scribbled notes furiously and with the few extra moments left over we clicked a few pictures.

Rob's best selling book is Planet's in Transit. It is a classic and should be in your library. I'm on my second copy since I destroyed the binding on the first copy by overuse.

During the past 40 years Rob has been the principle character with the strength of will, firmness and resolution to bring Astrology and all its disparate parts into the 21st Century.

The horoscope charts we use on this site are from the company he organized and built from scratch Astrolabe. He led the volunteer astrologer's organization NCGR for years as the group built a network of chapters throughout the USA and held semi-annual conferences. His ability to give an informative and funny lecture made it possible to attract enough astrologers to hold the first United Astrologers Conference (next one, May 23, 2012 New Orleans). He said "go for it" when a group of astrologers suggested translating the ancient Greek and Latin astrology Texts. He is still engaged in translating the Medieval Latin books.

Astrologer's have run out of awards to honor him. However, the greatest honor for him is to have you listen to his lectures, run with his ideas and laugh. If ever there was a master teacher for our time Rob is that person.

And yes he will be at UAC. Also check his lecture schedule maybe he will be in your area during the next 12 months.

The New Moon in Aries 2011

The New Moon appears in the 11th House (refer to chart) The first four new Moon charts of 2011 have focused on Money.

This month of the Aries New Moon, financial markets will focus on dividends, bonuses, and one time pay outs. Companies will buy back their stocks and many will find clever ways to reward shareholders. This is a month that will focus on income from investments as well as bonuses due from employers. People will consider ways to capitalize on their hobbies. Their objective is to add future income and avoid the risk of inflation. It is a good time to outline plans for the year ahead and consult friends and colleagues for new ideas.

Jupiter appears in the 11th House

Financial disputes proliferate. Fair trade legislation and interest rates are the subject of constant bickering at every legislative level. Boards of directors dispute the directives of their Chief Executives and Chief Financial officers. Government bonds and securities have difficulty finding investors.

Mercury appears in the 11th House

Discussions, arguments, and recriminations are the order of the day, however everyone forgets the topic of the argument and why they are even involved in the discussion. Mercury is Retrograde and as it moves past Jupiter and the Sun it often triggers very expensive mistakes. Best to stick to the rule of not signing any contracts or buying expensive new toys.

Saturn appears in the 5th House

The commodities market suffers from lack of interest as traders note that weather conditions seem to be favorable and plenty of land is under till. Commodity traders will begin to notice the shift away from corporate farming. Consumer demand for the products of organic farmers will claim the futures contract markets. The shift means there will be fewer contracts to trade. Demand is weakening in the trade of raw materials. Contracts for timber and renewable resources replace the demand for metals.

Pluto appears in the 7th House

International relationships become very complex and leadership at every level is unable to agree on issues. International disputes multiply while the super powers feel they can’t really help. Prevention of widening civil wars seems to be impossible. Even domestic disputes become unsolvable.

Neptune appears in the 9th House

Fraud and deception are exposed and reported at every level. It is difficult to sort out the facts as trust is also challenged. Higher education continues to battle problems with budgets and staff.

Venus appears in the 10th House

The Royal wedding captivates the American audience. The British take the opportunity to improve foreign relations with governments and corporations. It is a time when weddings endear the public.

Mars appears in the 10th House

It usually indicates war and conflict. Conjunct Uranus it further indicates arguments and disputes that refuse a compromise. Agreements between even friendly powers are impossibly complex. Corporations find board members and share holders at odds with each other.

Uranus appears in the 10th House

Outrageous attacks make headlines. There are dangers to officials in high positions as unreasonable disputes are impossible to resolve.

Oil prices? Drill? Substitute? Conserve?

Barrel of Oil $100+?

February 18, 2011 and the price of crude begins to jump. By March 25, 2011 it is up 25% at $105 for light sweet crude. Protests in the Middle east are given credit for the price increase. Consumers of oil are trying to devise ways to avoid paying the price.

What are the options?

Drill?

Geologists have been busy mapping possible locations and the corporate bean counters have been estimating cost. Governments around the world have been inundated with requests for drilling permits. For this analysis we will use the chart for the First Oil Well August 27, 1859 Noon Titusville Pa. (Print this blog and add to Financial Astrology Textbook 4)

For drilling companies the hopeful aspect is Pluto trine Pluto from March 30-April 19, 2011. However the aspect does not become exact, thus further delays until exact February 4, 2012. In the meantime Pluto will trine Mercury July 4,2011, Jupiter will conjunct Pluto July 27, October 23, 2011 and March 8, 2012 promising the drilling companies a plethora of finds and plenty of options as to where to drill first.

You will notice a string of Jupiter aspects starting April 14, 2011 continuing through March 8, 2012 promising an increase supply of available crude to sell. Will Jupiter bring down the price of crude as supplies increase? In February when Pluto made a trine to Mercury news concerning the availability of surplus supplies of crude did not influence the oil traders. They continued to push up the price on futures contracts. The same aspect returns July 4, and Nov 24 with the possibility of a return to higher futures contracts on the spot oil market.

Substitute?

The Titutsville chart shows an eclipse at 11 Gemini rather close to its 7 Gemini Uranus on June 2, 2011. Optimistically the sudden change will appear and competing energy sources will come on line to diminish the demand for oil.

OPEC's chart has the Moon at 7 degrees Cancer. The July 1, 2011 eclipse is at 9 degrees Cancer. An eclipse to the Moon means that the public is not pleased and optimistically(again) is looking for alternatives to the groups supply policies. Since January 30, 2011 OPEC has experienced Pluto opposed the Moon therefore the public has not favored oil exploration by the organization. In fact the populace of the OPEC countries has been very angry with the management of oil drilling and exploration. Their attitude will continue until May 2, 2011 with Saturn square Saturn and the discussions with their leaders concerning the distribution of oil revenues. The problem concerning the public's perception of OPEC policies will continue the Oct 26, 2012 with the continuing opposition of Pluto to the OPEC Moon. Uranus opposes OPEC's Mercury May 20, 2011 Aug 31, 2011 and March 7, 2012. Strange news and unusual events confuses the organization therefore their policies are inconsistent and traders find the market very volatile. This will encourage inventors of alternative energy sources to invest and promote their products.

Conserve? Mercury is retrograde for the next 3 weeks (March 30-April 23) therefore write a list and combine your trips. Keep your cellphone in your pocket to double check appointments and phone home. Pay cash at the pump is another technique. Do not fill the tank is another. Coast to the 4 way stop sign and avoid getting behind a school bus. For home heating change from oil to natural gas. That is your individual contribution to the conservation of energy.

Governments and corporations can install solar and wind generators to lighten their consumption of electrical power. Power companies can switch from oil to natural gas to generate power. When oil is $100+ it makes economic sense to change. Jupiter and Uranus in Aries will allow the change to happen quickly and probably unannounced.

Conclusion: Oil prices will remain over $100 until June when demand destruction becomes apparent. The June 2nd and July 1st eclipses will change the landscape of world markets and the price of oil will reverse direction.

aside: I'm hoping I'm correct since I'm scheduled to lecture in June for the South Suburban Chicago NCGR and the Milwaukee NCGR. I plan to drive so I will have the freedom to cruise around.

The New Moon in Pisces 2011

A Financial Astrologer looks first at the money houses in the chart for the New Moon. The Capricorn New Moon, January 4th, fell in the second house putting an emphasis on how you earn money one hour at a time. The Aquarius New Moon appeared in the fifth house, therefore the emphasis was on taking risks with money. The Pisces New Moon falls in the eighth house and the focus of attention will be insurance and taxes. The Aries New Moon will appear in the eleventh and discuss earnings from career, dividends, and interest on investments.

The New Moon appears in the 8th House(people who are not living in the USA please set the New Moon chart for the capital of your country and note the house position of the New Moon - Textbook 4, page 30 will help you interpret the new moon for your own country)

Folks are concerned about income from partnerships, death, inheritance, taxes and insurance. They are assessing their net worth as well as their talents. Expect changes in insurance offerings as well as pension funds. Tax laws are very volatile, therefore personal budgets will be very difficult to calculate. Thrifty is the best solution.

Mercury appears in the 8th House
Publishing is changing dramatically. Icons of the industry will be required to close their doors and/or declare bankruptcy. Watch the IPO market for new ideas in media and sharing content. Social networking continues to facilitate gatherings of protestors. Their complaints are numerous.

Uranus appears in the 8th House
Uranus here suggests an opportunity to capitalize on changes in tax laws, insurance policy requirements, and legal requirements for business partnerships.

Traditional banks need to reassess their business plans. Out of the box thinking is required to find investment opportunities. Be Aware: alternative banking enterprises will appear across the internet.

Jupiter appears in the 9th House
Import/export trade rules need to be revised as the expense outweighs the benefits. Legal disputes arise concerning contracts and payments that are connected to currency valuations.

Pirates continue to plague shippers and the international communities are determined to use every possible deterrent.

Saturn appears in the 3rd House
Communications devises and vehicles fail to find customers. Generally retail sales are slow as consumers are not impressed with improved designs or color. Publishing traditional paper books becomes unprofitable. Big box stores and shopping malls continue to suffer from customer deficit.

Pluto appears in the 5th House
Schools continue to be under funding pressure. Students find alternative schools desirable. Theater, the arts, and sports suffer from the inability to increase revenues to match costs.

The North Node here indicates that speculators are taking advantage of what appears to be a bottom in the housing market.

Venus appears in the 6th House
Employment of female workers improves as their computer/clerical skills are in demand. Folks are steadily improving their personal health, therefore buying fewer pharmaceutical products.

Neptune appears in the 7th House
This is a time to triple check the price of everything you purchase. Scandals will dominate the news as new Ponzi schemes are identified. If it is to good to be true it is.

Mars appears in the 7th House
Mars here warns of natural disasters including fires, floods earthquakes and volcanic activity. The super full moon on March 18th adds to the probability of difficult challenges from mother nature or the Sun.

Researching the Equinox by Ursula

Hi Kaye,

I have been practicing on a lot of different things, still think I got a long way to go, but ever since our discussion with Ted about the hypothetical planet Lilith, I have been looking at this planet. I wanted to run this past you to see if you think there might be something in it or if I am way of track.

I checked a few times when our index started going down and Lilith and the Sun seems to be in hard aspect many of these times. Also I got the book that Pat Hardy mentioned "the key to speculation on the New York Stock exchange" and checked out some of those degrees. Sometimes the degrees were on important parts, sometimes not.

I also googled critical degrees to read up more info about them.

Many of the technical indicators are showing a turn in the market so I started looking when and why.

This is what I am finding and wondering if the trend won't change around this time. Jupiter and Uranus no longer conjunct. would love your opinion.

14 march - Lilith 29 Pisces (29 deg = weakest point)

20 March Lilith conj Sun in Pisces at 29 degrees, I also read about a Moon Wobble (major environmental damage) when the Sun forms a T square to Nodes, this happen today as well. This is also the day of the Spring equinox, but it is on a Sunday.

The Moon will be at 29Virgo opposing these planets. (Moon in either Pisces or Virgo, can cause disasters that effect the stock market - same book).

21 March - Sun Uranus 0 deg Aries

26 March - Mars squaring Nodes = high volumes - selling.

Either a change in trend or a major decline for a few days. I have only looked at Lilith and what was around it not really any other planets.

Maybe I'm looking at unimportant things? What is your take?

My Take:

Lilith is an important astrological point and very little research has been devoted to the study.

My take is that the signs of change at this Equinox abound. The Super Full Moon on the 19th heralds a tremendous amount of earth changes. The Sun conjunct Uranus says capitalize on your ability to think out of the box. Uranus returning to Aries ignites the inventive spirit of everyone. There is so much to say about the 2011 Spring Equinox that my Spring Equinox article will only be able to cover about 1/10 of the changes we are about to experience. However, the markets anticipate change ahead of the exact aspects, therefore be aware of the favored sectors, watch for bubbles, and keep your stops firmly in place.

The Aries Point is important in every chart. You all are invited to share your astrological observations. OK? This equinox is a big deal.

Challenge Find the Bubble

The Tulip Bubble and the South Sea Bubble have one common astrological signature. Jupiter and Uranus are in Aries.

2011 from March until June, Jupiter and Uranus will transit Aries.

This is the challenge: Find the Bubble.

Somewhere in the market place a bubble is forming. Could it be one of the 12,000 stocks listed on the New York exchanges? Could it be a whole sector? Could it be a commodity, a currency, an index, or an entire exchange?

History tells us that when Jupiter and Uranus get together in Aries a bubble forms and bursts toward the end of Jupiter’s transit of Aries, Historians love to site the Tulip Bubble and the South Sea Bubble as examples of foolish investors caught up in the euphoria of making fortunes buying a selling worthless investments. Simultaneously the Mississippi Bubble burst.

From January through June 1928 Jupiter was in Aries and Uranus transited Aries from zero to 8 degrees. No popping bubbles however the markets were soaring and ordinary folks were learning all about margin calls. Eighteen months later the markets collapsed. Since this transit is similar, it could be that nothing will happen and markets will soar while bears keep telling investors keep your stops firmly in place.

Jupiter has transited Aries a few times since 1928. Notable is Oct 19, 1987 when he made an exact trine to Uranus in Sagittarius. The Dow fell 23% and the S&P fell 20%. Jupiter transited Aries again from Feb 15, 1999 to Feb 15 2000. The peak for the Dow Jan 14,200 was 11,733 and the NASDAQ high of 5048 March 10,2000 signaled the bursting of the Dot.Com bubble.

Eyes Wide Open

Jupiter in Aries says open your eyes, snap out of it. Uranus in Aries takes the lid off the box and forces you to stop look and listen to your instincts. Suddenly every investor sees the same bubble and they scramble to the exit losing fortunes as they rush to the sell button on their computer. Will it be a flash crash?

Thousands of rules and regulations have been written to assure investors that bubbles will be discovered before they burst. However in the age of instant communications they could appear one afternoon and burst before daylight. One will be clever enough to make spectacular headlines.

Sector Please?

Maybe we could find some clues from the recent conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus in Aries on June 8, 2010. Summer 2010 and both planets made a two month foray into Aries. Uranus hovered at zero degrees while Jupiter moved all the way to 3 degrees before it turned retrograde and returned to Pisces September 10, 2010.

Summer of 2010 the Dow Jones Index average cruised below 10,500 .and remained there until Sept 13. June 10, 2010 Jupiter and Uranus made a conjunction at zero Aries.The Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped to 9816. Uranus continued to move forward through the zero degree mark and then turned retrograde July 5 and the Dow dipped to 9743.. Everyone expected the Dow to dip further. However Uranus moving retrograde kept the Dow steady hovering around the 10,000 mark until it finally returned to Pisces August 13, 2010.

I suspect that during the summer a bubble began to form either in one sector of the market or among several stocks. During the next month you will see that a number of stocks have increased more than 50% to date. Financial News headlines last summer did not suggest any bubbles were starting to form. Look for a migrating high that does not make sense.

Before Winter and Summer Solstice and the Spring and Fall Equinox I write an article that will be a general overview for the next three months of the economy. Often the events I forecast occur before the event is detailed in the news. You will read about an event several weeks later. For example: The Fall equinox 2010 below, Corporate and government managers left their jobs in droves however they did not formally leave until the beginning of the New Year.

Entries from Sept 20, 2010

Moon in the 10th House
Women in high office will suffer the wrath of the public. Many will lose their elections and many will lose their corporate offices. The public insists on a clean house and they will achieve it either in court, at the ballot box, or in the board room.

Jupiter in the 10th House
Men will also suffer from the public outrage. Corporate officers will be dismissed quickly and their golden parachutes may be less golden than in previous years. Financial reporters will have a difficult task keeping track of the changes and pundits will not be able to type fast enough. In a number of cases retirements will occur first. Changes in management is often difficult for the price of an individual stock.

Uranus in the 10th House
At least all of the changes in government and corporate leadership will be sudden and interesting. If you check the lessons in the you should be able to anticipate these changes. Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct and ready to start reorganizing the corporate board rooms and government.

Signs not Constellations

Nothing has changed.

You can change the name of the street but the house hasn't moved. In fact nothing has changed about an individual horoscope or the indication of the skills on an individual investor according to the placement of the planets on their date of birth. Changing the name of a constellation or adding another changes nothing but the street map. ( I used to be a printer and we loved it when the city changed the names of streets. Our company was inundated with all sorts of new orders to replace maps, business cards, stationary)

In fact sometimes I wish the astronomers would rename all of the constellations. Horse is much easier to spell than Sagittarius. However I'm afraid that astrologers would stick to their 2000 year old tradition and I will continue to misspell Sagittarius.

Financial Astrology is based on the position of planets. We just want to know the exact distance between planets and the sign of the zodiac where they may be found. Our study is based on a Zodiac of Signs.

Astrological investing is based on the position of the planets at each moment in time. Our study is based on a Zodiac of signs, not a zodiac of constellations. We use the signs as a handy reference map to decipher the location of planets. We need to know the measurement of degrees between each planet from the point of view of our position on earth. For example: Right now, Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct in the 'Sign' Pisces. However, if you wish to find Jupiter and Uranus with your telescope then you will need a current map of the constellations. For financial astrologers the Zodiac signs are like a street map. We use the map to tell us the distance (measured in degrees) between the planets.

Its All in the Aspects
In Financial Astrology we use today's planetary positions to help us determine how the market indexes will move. Jupiter and Uranus have been very close to each other since June. Each time they have been together during the past 100 years the Dow index has gradually moved up.
We have discovered many other useful aphorisms. For example when Jupiter moves through the area of the sky we call Pisces; the price of fuel increases. We have also discovered that companies who have incorporated between February 20 and March 20 usually earn higher profits when Jupiter moves through that portion of the sky named for the sign Pisces.

Experience has shown that certain relationships between planets may have a positive or negative effect on the Dow or other indexes. Experience has also shown that the current position of a planet will also effect the price of an individual stock and even the health of a company.

Barrel of Oil $100+ ?

Gasoline: $5 a gallon

A favored headline scare tactic of financial news reporters. The article reads that if the price of a barrel of oil continues to increase at the current rate, in only a few weeks the price at the pump will be 5 bucks. Surely the current price trend will continue with speculators adding a dollar or two per day to the price of a barrel on the NY Comex spot market. They continue that if the rate of price increase continues, it means you will pay $3 then $4 then $5 per gallon. And of course this could spark a double dip recession, higher unemployment, and thin new car sales.

Their story is true

Every current driver remembers every detail of the story. They experienced the problem in July 2008 with $145 per barrel the high for oil on the spot market. They remember how to consolidate shopping trips, minimized vacation miles, car pool and refused the temptation of mini-mart snacks. In October 2008 a surplus of supply sent the price down to $77 per barrel, but in the mean time speculation on the oil markets and mortgage market initiated a great recession.

The question then becomes, will it happen again? Will price move in a straight line up to $145. Will OPEC quickly add to the supply of oil and prevent another skyrocketing increase at the pump? We do know for sure that OPEC does not favor selling fewer barrels of oil.

I thought I would take a look at the chart for the date OPEC's first official meeting, Sept. 14,1960 9:00 am GMT in Bagdad.

In July 2008 OPEC had T. Uranus opposed its Sun and Saturn conjunct its Pluto but in October T. Jupiter made a square to Venus then a trine to its Sun. Jupiter sees to increase the supply of oil. These aspects will not repeat.

The January 4, 2011 eclipse falls on OPEC's second house Saturn. It means they will negotiate every deal and allow the buyer only a minimum profit. They will systematically account for all of their assets and try to be thrifty with the distribution of oil. An eclipse is in effect for at least 6 months and during this time T. Saturn will make a conjunction twice to OPEC's Venus. On Nov. 27 during Saturn's 1st conjunction to Venus prices moved from $83-$87. Then Jupiter took over with a square to itself and prices moved from $87-$91. This will happen again March 30 and Aug 22.

Conclusion

It seems Saturn slows the pace of increased prices for OPEC. Jupiter increases supplies of oil suggesting that the price per gallon will move up slowly during the next six months. Ingenuity is required if we are to avoid spending extra income on transportation.

Consider these next few months an opportunity to reorganize how you spend your travel time and hopefully natural gas or electricity will become your fuel of choice. T. Pluto opposed OPEC's Moon (Jan. 30-May 5, Dec 3- Jan 30, 2012 and May 11-Oct 25) will probably inspire everyone to make the changes required.
